Medical Coding & Health Information Technician Program
Course Description
This program is designed specifically for those interested in the coding and handling Health Information Administrative aspect of the medical healthcare industry. With detailed teaching, the program is intended to provide personal enrichment from an inclusive array of medical billing and Health Information Technology topics ranging from the introductory courses to intense and detailed advanced billing and coding courses. In those program students will learn: medical terminology; basic anatomy and physiology; clinical classification systems; medical coding (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS); clinical records management; medical office procedures; insurance and medical billing; and information technologies, while focusing on HIPAA, OIG, and Medicare Compliance
Admission Requirements
Individuals applying for this course are required to interview with an Academic Advisor;
Present proof of education (high school diploma or GED certificate)
Achieve a 60% score on the CSN Basic Skills Test and 60% or more on the IT Assessment Test.
